Leather Essentials

As we settle deeper into autumn and inch closer to winter, wardrobe foundations shift towards pieces that balance warmth, texture and modernity. Leather becomes one of the season’s most reliable tools: resilient, tactile and endlessly adaptable.

It moves beyond simple edge, stepping instead into quiet luxury through sculpted outerwear, refined trousers and accessories that bring depth to effortless everyday dressing. This is our curated edit of leather essentials at House Of Valerie, designed for the season ahead and for many more to come.

Outerwear, Redefined

Sculptural silhouettes and soft leather layers take the lead in AW25, reimagining outerwear as something both practical and deeply expressive. Each piece commands presence while remaining wearable, carrying the unmistakable craftsmanship of RUNDHOLZ, ANNETTE GÖRTZ and DOM GOOR.

RUNDHOLZ DIP Jacket

RUNDHOLZ brings narrative into leather through its DIP line, where archival postcard imagery inspires abstract colour treatments and sculptural forms. The RUNDHOLZ DIP jacket is cut from soft, dyed lamb leather with a fitted shape that introduces structure without rigidity. Oversized pockets shaped with considered folds add depth and artistic tension, a detail that defines AW25’s more experimental direction.

In Pine, the jacket becomes deeply evocative of autumn forests, with an olive tone that grounds monochrome outfits and brings a natural intensity to knitwear or fine tailoring. Flamingo has a very different energy. Soft, dusty rose with a slightly weathered undertone, it perfectly complements black trousers, charcoal denim or tonal pink layers and turns them into something modern and unexpected. Whether paired with the matching trousers or worn as a standalone statement, it is RUNDHOLZ at its most confident.

DOM GOOR Curly Short Gilet

If texture is the language of AW25, then this DOM GOOR gilet speaks with fluency. Full sheepskin, medium weight and fully reversible, it offers two finishes in one: curly shearling on one side and smooth lamb leather on the reverse. Cut to a cropped length, it introduces playful proportion and warmth without heaviness.

October Mist brings a moody, smoky grey-green that suits deep berry tones or classic black, creating an atmospheric winter palette. Pink softens the silhouette beautifully, adding a delicate touch that works against espresso, navy or bone. Dark Moss introduces a rich, earthy depth that feels grounded and sophisticated, especially layered over cream knitwear. Dark Cerulean is particularly striking, a cool, inky blue that gives sharp contrast to lighter trousers or pale greys. Each colour offers a different reading of the same shape, proving how adaptable this piece can be.

ANNETTE GÖRTZ Calo Fur Jacket

A study in contrast, this reversible lamb-fur jacket moves between smooth leather and plush shearling with ease. ANNELTE GÖRTZ is known for combining urban structure with softness, and the Calo jacket captures that balance perfectly. Wide sleeves and dropped shoulders add gentle volume, while a neat collar and button front ensure refinement.

In Black, the jacket feels sleek and architectural. It sharpens wide-leg trousers and elongates the line when worn over straight dresses or slim denim. For colder days, the shearling side adds warmth and a quieter, more tactile presence. Its cropped length allows it to sit cleanly over longline tops, cashmere knits or tailored shirts, creating layered looks that feel intentional but effortless.

ANNETTE GÖRTZ Salma Leather Pullover

The Salma pullover reimagines leather as something soft and wearable for everyday layering. With its relaxed fit, high neckline with button fastening and quarter side zip, it introduces subtle utilitarian touches that reflect the designer’s minimal, modern perspective.

Light Brown works beautifully across autumn palettes. It feels warm without being overpowering, pairing especially well with cream cords, black wool trousers or charcoal ribbed layers.

ANNETTE GÖRTZ Calla Fur Coat

If you want luxury with presence, the Calla coat embodies it. Its longline silhouette and reversible design offer two striking options: smooth patterned leather on one side and soft shearling on the other. Long sleeves and dropped shoulders create gentle movement, while the collared neckline introduces classic tailoring.

The coat is an essential anchoring piece for a wide range of autumn and winter outfits. Worn with tonal layers, it becomes sculptural and commanding. With soft greys or winter whites, it feels elevated and crisp. Few pieces transition as naturally from day to night; even over simple knitwear and boots, the Calla coat transforms the entire look.

Leather Tailoring

Leather trousers remain a cornerstone of cold-season dressing, offering strength, structure and contemporary polish. AW25’s silhouettes range from the exaggerated to the refined, allowing each woman to find her perfect shape.

RUNDHOLZ DIP Trouser

For a complete coordinated statement, the RUNDHOLZ DIP trousers in Pine or Flamingo pair seamlessly with the matching jacket. The drop-crotch silhouette, sculpted folds and oversized pockets reflect the artistic language of the collection, yet the fit remains surprisingly wearable. Pine gives a grounded neutrality that works with bone or cream knitwear. Flamingo introduces modern romance, especially when styled with light grey or black.

ANNETTE GÖRTZ Sabia Trouser

For a more classic approach, the Sabia trouser offers straight-leg simplicity with thoughtful detailing. The fixed waistband, side pockets and soft seam darts create a flattering, elongated line.

Black is timeless, ideal for workwear or for grounding statement outerwear. Light Brown has a softer, caramel-like warmth that pairs well with creams, soft greys and rich olives.

SORT AARHUS Leather Legging

SORT AARHUS excel at practical, modern leather, and their stretch legging is one of the most versatile pieces of AW25. Fitted, comfortable and with zipper fastenings to the side, these lend structure to oversized knitwear, crisp shirts or longline coats. The brown tone is a lovely warm alternative to classic black.

SORT AARHUS Leather Trouser

The SORT AARHUS straight-cut trousers in black stretch leather offer a polished foundation for sharper styling. The fixed turn-up hem gives subtle definition, making them ideal for structured coats, tailored shirts or textured knits. They sit beautifully with boots, especially platform styles - a true House Of Valerie favourite!

SORT AARHUS Drop-Crotch Trouser

In brown leather, this drop-crotch design brings signature Scandinavian ease. It adds relaxed volume without losing sophistication, creating a sculptural silhouette that pairs well with minimalist tops or chunky knitwear. A strong daytime option for those who prefer directional dressing.

ANNETTE GÖRTZ Samir Trouser

The Samir trouser introduces a slight 70s flare to cropped leather tailoring. In Black, it feels sleek and modern. In Light Brown, the cut becomes softer and more playful. Both variations style beautifully with clean tops, fitted knits or sharp outerwear.

Leather Details

Accessories shape the mood of a look, and AW25’s leather details bring depth and refinement to everyday dressing.

HANNOH WESSEL Sarina Cross-Body Bag

The Sarina bag is compact, easy and beautifully made. In brown leather, it complements the season’s earthy palette and pairs seamlessly with wool coats or structured leather jackets. Its simple shape and adjustable strap make it a daily essential.

HANNOH WESSEL Betty Messenger Bag

In Cinnamon, the Betty bag brings a warm, rich tone that elevates neutral outfits. With a single compartment, subtle detailing and a soft silhouette, it transitions easily between casual and refined styling.

DOM GOOR Fur Scarf

Adding a smooth shearling scarf introduces texture without overwhelming, and we love the DOM GOOR fur scarf. Vanilla adds a soft, creamy lift to darker coats, whilst Pink offers a gentle colour accent that pairs well with greys, browns or muted florals. Lightweight and streamlined, it is perfect for styling with leather jackets or tailored wool coats.

ANNETTE GÖRTZ Edmo Cuff

Minimal, sculptural and crafted in matte black leather, the Edmo cuff offers a subtle finishing touch. It adds structure to knitwear and complements the clean lines of tailored coats.

Grounded in Leather

Footwear defines the rhythm of winter dressing. SORT AARHUS and RUNDHOLZ lead the season with designs that balance function with refinement.

SORT AARHUS Boots

The mid-calf boot in Nero is smooth, structured and designed with a solid platform sole. With buckles and a sculpted toe and heel cap, it introduces edge without compromising wearability. The knee-high heeled boot, also in Nero, offers a refined silhouette that works beautifully with dresses, cropped trousers or longline coats. For something more directional, the Gasoline Nero calf-high boot brings ruched leather and a strong platform shape.

RUNDHOLZ MAINLINE Shoe

The RUNDHOLZ platform shoe brings sculptural presence to the collection. In Swamp, the near-black green offers subtle depth that complements the darker tones of AW25. Bone provides contrast, adding lightness and a contemporary twist to leather trousers or drop-crotch silhouettes. The patent finish further elevates the shoe, ensuring it stands out while remaining comfortable.
