Article: O’MER AW26, A NEW NAME AT HOUSE OF VALERIE

O’MER AW26, A NEW NAME AT HOUSE OF VALERIE
There’s a new name at House of Valerie this season and if you love the understated side of our collections, O’MER is one to know.
Founded in France in 2021 by designer Jean-Pierre Braillard, O’MER approaches dressing with a simplicity that feels particularly right for Autumn/Winter. Beautiful natural fabrics, relaxed silhouettes and pieces that are easy to layer sit at the heart of the brand, with comfort considered just as carefully as cut.
For AW26, that translates into soft alpaca-mix knitwear, unstructured denim, relaxed herringbone tailoring and easy trousers, brought together in a palette of tobacco, camel, chocolate, denim and black.
Nothing feels overly complicated. Instead, it’s the shape, fabric and way the pieces work together that make O’MER interesting.

WHERE O’MER SITS AT HOUSE OF VALERIE
If you already love the ease of PAS DE CALAIS, MANUELLE GUIBAL, HANNOH WESSEL or AEQUAMENTE, O’MER will feel very much at home in your wardrobe.
There’s a similar appreciation for tactile fabric and relaxed dressing, but it brings its own character through rounded proportions, cropped lengths and the contrast between something beautifully soft and something altogether more utilitarian.
A sculptural alpaca knit with denim. A herringbone blazer with a relaxed trouser. Corduroy cut into an exaggerated balloon shape.
It’s understated, but certainly not ordinary.

KNITWEAR WITH SHAPE
The knitwear is a lovely place to start. Their Alpaca-Mix Sculptural Pullover is made with baby alpaca and cut into a relaxed cocoon silhouette, with a high roll neck, long sleeves and subtle ribbing drawing the shape back in at the cuffs and hem.
It’s exactly the kind of knit we like at HOV: soft enough to feel luxurious, but with enough shape to make an outfit interesting.
Then there’s the Relaxed Alpaca-Mix Pullover in Royal, introducing a shot of blue amongst AW26’s earthier palette.
Rather than treating knitwear simply as something to put underneath a jacket, these are pieces that can create the silhouette themselves.

THE O’MER TROUSER
There’s a lovely sense of volume running through the trousers too.
The Denim Wide-Leg Balloon Trouser takes something as familiar as a pair of jeans and shifts the proportion, creating a fuller, rounded leg that works brilliantly beneath shorter knitwear and relaxed jackets.
The same idea appears again in corduroy. In warm Camel, the Corduroy Wide-Leg Balloon Trouser brings another texture into the collection and feels particularly good alongside all those tobacco and chocolate shades..
This is where O’MER becomes particularly wearable: the shapes have personality, but they're still pieces you can imagine reaching for again and again.

RELAXED TAILORING
Tailoring gets the same softened treatment. The Relaxed Herringbone Blazer has the familiarity of a traditional autumn fabric without feeling overly formal. Rather than building a conventional suit around it, we'd use it as another layer – over knitwear, with denim or against one of the collection's fuller trouser shapes.
That balance between tailoring and ease runs throughout O’MER. Nothing feels too rigid or too polished.
And that makes it very easy to mix into some of the collections already hanging alongside it at HOV.

HOW WE’D STYLE O’MER
We'd resist making everything match. Take one of the alpaca knits and put it with the balloon denim. Wear the herringbone blazer over a softer, fuller trouser. Mix tobacco with black, camel with denim, or use that flash of Royal blue against the otherwise earthy palette.
O’MER also gives us plenty of opportunity to cross-style. It's the kind of collection that becomes more useful, rather than less, when you start mixing it with pieces you already own.
O’MER AT HOUSE OF VALERIE
There’s the fabric quality, certainly. But more importantly, there's that same understanding that everyday clothes don't have to be conventional.
A denim trouser can be beautifully rounded. A jumper can become sculptural. Herringbone can feel relaxed rather than tailored. And getting dressed can be as simple as choosing a few really good layers and letting their shape and texture do the work.
O’MER AW26 is a collection to wear, layer and make your own and a new name we think you'll be seeing much more of at House of Valerie.
